447billion approval
our senate just approved a bill to "provide money for non-defense government agencies including the Transportation, Commerce, Justice, Veterans Affairs and State departments". i just don't understand why sooo much money is needed! Between the bail out money and this, China defn. is going to own us! $447 billion!.. where does all this money come from? The only thing left is for Obama's stamp of approval;lets see what Mr. president has instore for us this time.
peace prize
I don't know what to say. Obama accepted the Nobel peace prize just 9 days after he sent 30,000 more troops over seas. I don't think they gave him such an honorable prize to increase our "war" in Afghanistan. Why was he even give the prize in the first place? He was put up for nomination basically for "talking about" everything he wanted to change.

Dove in Afgan..
I think this shows us a reality.. We don't know how much we are needed right now. Yes, our intentions were a bit twisted to start, but the people of Afghanistan need us now, they want freedom for the Taliban. I think I can say this with confidence because of how such a left wing person protesting the war can simply state: "we need more troops". As much as we don't want to "police" the world, or be at war right now, I think our presence is needed.
8 roles of the president
Obama overall is what I think, pretty well rounded in his roles at the president. I couldn't determine that he has done a horrible job at any of them. Obama has the strengths of standing for something, delivering his ideals in a way in which any can understand, and meeting with other countries around the world to increase our friendliness. The only thing that really bothers me about Obama, which I think bothers many is his inability to act on what he says....thus far. Anyone can stand up on stage and express great plants for out nation, but not just anybody can fallow through and complete these tasks. he does have a lot of time ahead of him, so we will see how this all folds out
Executive Privilege
I think that this should be used as little as possible. Anything i the president knows, I think congress should know, to better their decisions for passing laws and giving approvals. The president knows much more about our situations over seas then we do, I think we have the right to know what going on unless it could bring harm to our country, or our people. With a more informed american body, we can help decided what needs to truly be done.

Fort Hood
the question is.. Do you think the military did all they could from preventing the fort Hood shooting. I feel that this accident could have been completely prevented. If indeed the FBI had been tracking or following the blog of Nidal Malik Hasan, and was aware of his place in the military, why infact was this information not massed onto the generals at Fort Hood. I think the lack of communication between government branches needs to be sorted out.

Eminent Domain
I don't think that the
Government should have the power to take owners property and sell it to private corporations for projects. This power should simply limited to legitimate government projects, such as highways, or new affordable housing projects. When the Government abuses its powers, thats when things get out of hand, and thats when people begin to protest.

Nobel peace prize!
I honestly don't think that Obama deserves this award at all. He has talked a great deal about conflict in the world, but hasn't done much action yet. Knowing that he was simply nominated during the first month of his presidency kind of shocks me. At one end of this its good that he has won because now he has to stick to his word. If he doesn't follow through, it would ruin his reputation. I think we will really see if he deserves it farther into his presidency.

Afganistan troop increase?
Back Ground : Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who took over as the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan four months ago, has submitted an assessment in which he reportedly says he needs additional forces to successfully carry out the counterinsurgency strategy. Otherwise, McChrystal reportedly warns, the mission could fail, bringing a return of power to the Taliban.
My question is should be increase troops?
I think the need to increase troops is unnessesary at this time. As far as most new has benn show, the Afganistan area is not in danger of falling into the hands of the taliban any time soon. An increase of 20,000 troops was already deployed in March, and until Afganistan is in amediate threat, I see no reason to increase more trrops. Yes, being prepared is important, but why take the chance with our troops on the ground. Obama has yet to responed to the Generals statement, lets wait and see....

Should the US act on Iran's Nuclear
recently this weekend Iran disclosed a underground uranium enrichment plant . Our govternment stated it is both Illegal and could most likely developed for warfare. The big question is: Why would they hide it underground? Hilary Clinton stated, ""It would have been disclosed if it were for peaceful purposes,". What should- we do?
Thus far I think the US is going about it the say i should be done. They've givin Iran a week to let inspectors in to servey this plant. If they do not comply to this I think there will be a repeat of our original war. I think the only thing to do would be to invade this site, or bomb it or something. If they can't prove it peaceful why should be let them continue to develop weapons that could potentually harm us.

Testing to Vote??
Personally, I feel that its wrong to make people pass a test to vote. Though I feel the majority of America's that do vote are not as fully informed as they could be. The fact is voting is a right to vote, if you feel you aren't informed as your should, don't vote; but you do have the choice to. Even if say you did issue a literacy test before you could vote, the controvery would be so great I think it would take away from the original election itself.

Lets get real here.. Parties.. its all fun and games until we get down to the issues.. parties cause more conflict than they do progress. Each can sit around and promise "change". Lets get real, half of what thy say is bulll shit. Issues issues issues. Abortion Gays Economy health care.. thats what really matters, not because.. everything is wrong because our president is a republican or a democrat. I wanna elect Ben Harper.. "Your choice is what you choose to do, and if I'm causing no harm it shouldn't bother you... Harm.. is they key word.. for any questions please ask

Pg 84
#1. everything impacts my political view. I am now at the age where i believe what i believe. News, papers, parents, teachers all leave impacts. Most of all though, my parents have had the greatest influence because they lways try to explain things in there views. I'm not saying that I decide what they decided, onlt that they've had a greater opportunity to express there views.
#2 the new throw TV has had the biggest impact. Consistently watching tv causes for impact. Ithink most of my political views are set because of simple issues I have a stand on.
